Our mission
One of our key goals is to bring some clarity into the complex world of NHS Continuing Healthcare funding and related issues. This is why we have written a comprehensive website and a number of helpful factsheets using Plain English at all times. Our work in this area is already being recognised as PCTs and Local Authorities regularly approach us to ask us to explain to their patients how funding decisions were made.

Cheselden also aims to make a positive impression on the current state of continuing care funding in the UK. We want to bring the injustice of the current situation to the attention of people who may have been wrongly advised about continuing care funding by their Primary Care Trust (PCT) and who may therefore have been adversely financially affected. We want to protect vulnerable families from the complex nature of lengthy appeals.
We provide a risk-free service to enable those people or families who are wrongly paying, or have wrongly paid, for care costs to get their money back. Our service is personal and will always reflect the delicate and stressful nature of the circumstances. Any action that we take will not detrimentally affect the client’s existing level of care.
We will:
- Be straightforward to deal with
- Make our processes as simple to understand as possible
- Be transparent and keep our clients informed at all stages
- Be as quick and efficient as possible so that current or retrospective funding is secured with the minimum of delay
- Do all we can to settle a client’s case before it goes to court
- Appoint the most appropriate solicitor to take the case to court if litigation cannot be avoided
- Respect our client’s confidentiality and right to privacy at all times.
